Counselor and Life Coach
As a doctor of philosophy, I have intensively engaged with human questions concerning suffering, guilt, the meaning of life, the how and why of existence, spirituality, and religiosity, as well as topics such as consciousness, thinking, intelligence, and artificial intelligence. Building on this, my training in the psychotherapeutic method of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis according to Viktor Frankl ("Third Viennese School of Psychotherapy") taught me to practically apply existential, phenomenological philosophy, enabling me to effectively assist people in addressing their life problems and finding meaning.
Logotherapy and Existential Analysis is a meaning-centered psychotherapy that views the "will to meaning" as the fundamental motivation for all human actions and behavior, firmly believing in the healing power of finding meaning. "He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how," Frankl often quoted Nietzsche. Indeed, identifying and recognizing meaning and meaningful moments in life helps individuals better endure existing and often unchangeable suffering, significantly alleviating psychological distress in most cases.
The scope of Logotherapy is diverse; it is specifically designed for anxieties, phobias, compulsions, somatoform disorders, and depressions, but it also effectively supports other psychological and psychosomatic disorders as well as somatic illnesses.
For the direct treatment of trauma and PTSD, I additionally apply the methods of EMDR and MBSR, and occasionally hypnosis.
My approach is humanistic, person-centered, existential-phenomenological, meaning-oriented, and focused on realizing values.
