Psychotherapist and Therapist

(MBA)

Client’s come to me for help so they can feel better and more able to cope with what they might have experienced in the past or so they can think differently about the future. Some might seek help for a simple phobia such as a fear of flying, others might ask for help to work through past trauma and to change their connections to old events and memories that are now preventing them from leading a more healthy and happier life.

As I work with clients online, I work with those living in the UK, and internationally.

I am a qualified master NLP practitioner, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Life Coach and Brain Working Recursive Therapist.

This means that I am able to bring a wide range of techniques to help you make the changes you want to make. I am a full member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, registered as a Senior Practitioner with the General Hypnotherapy Register and an accredited member of The Institute of Brain Working Recursive Therapy.

Over the last 20 years I have worked in the public sector with young people, been a self-employed designer and latterly worked in the charity and not-for-profit sectors before founding carmor associates in 2002. I changed the name to Anne Morrison Therapy and Coaching in 2009 on my return, from Scotland, to the North-East of England

I suppose I’ve always had an interest in why people do what they do and this developed over the 17 years I worked in the voluntary sector.

At one time I worked for a hospice and it was a fantastic place to work, full of hope and love as well as sadness and disappointment. You might think well sadness and disappointment are bound to be found in a hospice but in many cases it wasn't caused by the illness itself or the consequences but because people had unresolved issues or unfulfilled dreams that now they wouldn't have the chance to achieve due to a life-limiting illness.

So my interest in personal development and leadership grew.

When studying for my MBA, with the Open University Business School, there was one module about Creative Thinking and Management that introduced me to many different concepts including coaching and NLP and things started to come together.

I explored what coaching was and, you know when you just know that something is ‘right’ – well I ended up training as a life coach with The Coaching Academy and later achieving my NLP Master Practitioner with Jonathan Clark in Glasgow who is also a first class life coach and NLP Master Trainer. I then went on to study with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and qualified as a clinical hypnotherapist, which included hypno-EMDR and cognitive behaviour hypnotherapy.

More recently I have studied with the Institute of Brain Working Recursive Therapy, a ground-breaking psychotherapy, based on neuroscience. I am a supervisor and assessor for this approach. I also coach and mentor other therapists, helping them grow their own, succesful, therapy practices.

It has been an interesting journey and one which is not over yet

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
