Art Therapist, Psychotherapist and Therapist

Art Therapist, Psychotherapist and Therapist
I am a Registered Art Therapist (AThR) with ANZACATA and hold a Master of Therapeutic Arts Practice. I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where people can explore emotions, experiences and challenges through a combination of conversation and creative expression.
Art therapy does not require any artistic experience or ability. The focus is not on creating a beautiful piece of art, but on using creativity as another way to communicate, reflect, process experiences and develop greater self-awareness.
My approach is person-centred, gentle and responsive to each individual's needs. Rather than following a fixed formula, I work collaboratively with clients and allow the therapeutic process to develop at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful for them.
I support people experiencing stress, overwhelm, low confidence, emotional difficulties, life transitions and challenges with self-expression. I am particularly interested in helping people reconnect with themselves, recognise their strengths and develop healthier ways of understanding and responding to their emotions.
Sessions may incorporate drawing, painting, collage, clay, sensory materials, imagery, journalling and other creative approaches alongside therapeutic conversation. Clients are always given choice, and there is no pressure to use any particular art material or to discuss anything before they feel ready.
My work has included individual and group art therapy with children, adults, older adults and people living with disability, including therapeutic programs within community and aged-care settings.
I believe therapy works best when people feel genuinely heard, respected and accepted. My aim is to create a therapeutic relationship where you can be yourself, explore what matters to you and discover your own possibilities for growth and wellbeing.
If you are unsure whether art therapy is right for you, you are welcome to begin with an introductory conversation so that we can discuss what you are looking for and whether my approach may be a good fit.
