Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist, Psychotherapist and Registered Psychotherapist

Farai

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist, Psychotherapist and Registered Psychotherapist

I am a qualified High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, currently working within a London NHS Foundation Trust and offering private support. I have several years of experience working across NHS mental health services, supporting people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.

My approach to therapy is open, collaborative and down-to-earth. I offer a space where you can speak openly, make sense of what you are experiencing without judgement, and feel that we are working together towards something meaningful to you.

I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology (2:1) from Brunel University London, a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LICBT) from University College London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (HICBT) from the University of East Anglia.

I have several years of experience working within NHS mental health services. My career has progressed from mental health recovery work to working as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP), Senior PWP and, following specialist postgraduate training, a qualified High Intensity CBT Therapist.

My experience spans both primary and secondary care, including NHS Talking Therapies, specialist long-term physical health services and a Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team.

My clinical training and experience include the assessment and treatment of depression and a broad range of anxiety-related difficulties, including generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), health anxiety, specific phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and body dysmorphic disorder (BDD).

I also have extensive experience working with people experiencing psychological difficulties alongside long-term physical health conditions.

My practice is grounded in evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, using established cognitive and behavioural models to understand the factors that may be maintaining a person's difficulties and to develop an individualised treatment plan.

Alongside direct clinical work, I have experience in psychological assessment, risk assessment and management, clinical supervision, multidisciplinary working and supporting trainee clinicians. I have also completed additional University College London training in Low Intensity CBT for Long-Term Conditions and clinical supervision.

My professional experience includes roles within Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, Bromley Healthcare, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, and South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
