Counselor, Psychotherapist and Therapist

Caroline

Counselor, Psychotherapist and Therapist

Life throws many surprises at us, and whilst we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain difficulties or issues that we may be facing. Whether it is something from your past, or something that you are dealing with at this moment in time. By working together and by gaining a better understanding of these problems, we can work towards making changes to help you feel more in control of your life.

I work with individual adults on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.

I also have a special interest in working with individuals with disabilities and have worked for many years with students on the Autistic Spectrum, together with other challenging issues like ADHD, Tourettes, Sensory Issues, and many others. I am able to offer a discounted rate to individuals to with disabilities, and their family members as it is an issue very close to my heart. At the moment, I am also offering a discounted rate to members of the NHS, Keyworkers and members of the teaching profession. Please email me for further details.

I am based in the heart of the Chiltern Hills on the Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire border and I am central to the towns of High Wycombe, Aylesbury, and Oxford. During the Covid-19 pandemic I have been working remotely using Zoom, Loom, Skype and via telephone providing online counselling. Many clients have discovered the benefits and convenience of having online therapy at a time and day that is convenient to them. I have worked as a volunteer counsellor in High Wycombe, for an agency working with young people and adults up to the age twenty-five. I also have worked for an agency in Oxford dealing with adults suffering from a range of mental health problems like; stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, redundancy, and relationship issues to name but a few. I have also worked with clients on the Autistic Spectrum for many years and have personal and professional experience in this area, together with volunteering as a counsellor for a charity in Reading, counselling members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
