Chara Tzoanou is a Psychologist and Systemic Psychotherapist based in Nea Ionia, Athens. She began her academic studies at the University of Ioannina, where she obtained a degree in Philosophy, Education and Psychology, with a specialization in Psychology. She subsequently pursued studies in Psychology at the University of Strasbourg and completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at the European University Cyprus. At postgraduate level, she specialized in Applied Developmental Psychology at the Hellenic Open University and in Counselling Psychology at Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi.

 

She has also completed a four-year training programme in Systemic and Family Psychotherapy at KEDITHAS (Centre for the Exploration and Therapy of Human Systems), where she received extensive training in the systemic understanding of individuals, relationships, and families.

 

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in systemic thinking and in the development of a safe, collaborative therapeutic relationship. Throughout the therapeutic process, experiences, relationships, and recurring patterns are explored to develop a deeper understanding of how they influence the way individuals relate to themselves and to significant people in their lives.

 

Throughout her professional and clinical practice, she has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her areas of particular interest include interpersonal relationships, family dynamics, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, and parent counselling.
