Counselor and Therapist

(MNCPS)

You may be carrying something that isn't always easy to talk about, struggling with how life is going, or simply knowing that something doesn't feel quite right.

You may be experiencing anxiety, loneliness or feeling isolated, low mood, finding it difficult to adjust to changes in your life, or feeling that things have become hard to manage.

If any of this feels familiar, I would love to hear from you.

I have experience working with clients facing a range of emotional and personal challenges, as well as the everyday difficulties that can sometimes leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of what to do next.

I help my clients make sense of what they are experiencing and explore what may help them move forward. Perhaps you're unsure why you’re feeling the way you do, or sometimes find it difficult to understand or express your emotions and feelings, particularly in your relationships.

A space to talk openly

Therapy doesn't have to begin with knowing exactly what to say or being able to explain how you feel. Sometimes it can take time to find the words or to feel able to talk about things that are difficult.

There is no expectation that you need to arrive with everything worked out or know exactly what you want from therapy. We can start with whatever feels most relevant to you at the time and take things from there.

I believe that when we feel genuinely understood and accepted, without judgement or conditions, we can begin to understand ourselves in the same way.

Feeling heard and accepted can give you the space to recognise feelings and emotions that may have been difficult to acknowledge, understand or express, and to talk about what is really going on for you in your own time and in a way that feels right for you.

Sometimes what begins as a conversation about what is happening on the surface can gradually lead to a deeper understanding of feelings or experiences that have been difficult to put into words.

My person-centred approach

At the heart of my person-centred approach is the belief that feeling heard, accepted and understood can help us develop a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Therapy offers a space to explore your experiences, make sense of your feelings and discover what matters to you. With support, you can begin to recognise your own needs, understand yourself more fully and find a way forward that feels right for you.

There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to feel a certain way. We can explore whatever feels important to you, at your own pace.

Mindfulness and practical support

Alongside person-centred therapy, I also offer mindfulness support and practical coping strategies where appropriate.

This can include talking about how anxiety and stress affect us, and exploring things that may help in everyday situations, such as breathing methods, grounding techniques or ways of managing anxiety during difficult or anxiety-inducing conversations.

Where I feel a particular resource or exercise could be useful, I may also share something for you to explore in your own time. These are offered as options rather than things you are expected to do.

Taking the first step

You don't need to know exactly what is wrong, have a clear goal for therapy or know what you want to talk about before getting in touch.

I offer a free 20-minute initial call, giving you the chance to tell me a little about what’s been going on and what you’d like support with. I’ll explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and we can decide together whether working with me feels right for you.

My aim from the beginning is to make working together feel welcoming and straightforward. When you feel ready to reach out, you can use the enquiry form or send me an email, and I’ll be in touch to arrange our call or answer any questions you may have.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
