Clinical Psychologist, Counseling Psychologist, Marriage & Family Therapist and Psychologist

(MA and PhD)

I am Zankhana Umrigar, a Clinical Psychologist deeply committed to promoting mental health, emotional well-being, and psychological resilience across diverse populations.

My professional journey has allowed me to work in crisis intervention, academia, correctional settings, private practice, and neurorehabilitation. One of the most meaningful experiences in my career has been working with a Suicidal Prevention Helpline, where I provided crisis support, risk assessment, and emotional stabilization to individuals experiencing severe psychological distress. This role strengthened my ability to remain empathetic, composed, and solution-focused during critical situations.

As a Career Counsellor, I have guided students and young adults in understanding their strengths, interests, and potential career paths. I believe in empowering individuals to make informed academic and professional decisions aligned with their abilities and aspirations.

I have also served as a Lecturer at M.T.B. Arts College, where I had the opportunity to teach psychology, mentor students, and nurture their curiosity and professional growth in the field of mental health.

In addition to my private clinical practice, I work as a Clinical Psychologist at **Rashtriya Raksha University**, where I am involved in correctional settings within Central Prisons of Gujarat. My work includes psychological assessments, therapeutic interventions, behavioral management, and rehabilitation planning, aiming to facilitate emotional regulation, accountability, and reintegration into society.

I have also worked as a Clinical Psychologist at Sankalan Neuro Rehabilitation Center, a CSR initiative of U.N. Mehta Foundation. In this role, I supported individuals undergoing neurorehabilitation, helping patients and their families cope with neurological conditions, trauma recovery, and long-term rehabilitation challenges.

Through all these roles, I strive to integrate clinical expertise with empathy and ethical practice. I am passionate about creating safe spaces where individuals feel heard, understood, and supported in their journey toward healing and growth.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
