Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Psychotherapist and Therapist

I am an experienced and skilled therapist with a background in clinical psychology, dedicated to support you towards improving your well being.

I am from a multicultural background with a substantial life experience. This has guided me to develop an open mind towards life in general and to personal dilemmas in particular, with two key personal values at the centre:

- compassion, as a powerful tool to transmute emotion and to create a more joyful life.

- equanimity, the awareness that I cannot control life unpredictability but I can control /choose the way I respond to it

How can  I help

by listening without judgement, valuing the unique human being that you are

to investigate and understand  emotions and behaviour patterns

to reflect on earlier interactions and  how they affect your present relationships

to work with trauma and disconnected parts of self

to help you navigate the complex process of  grief, loss and abandonment

to  explore who you are and improve your self confidence and motivation toward life in general.

to offer creative ways to express difficult feelings and experiences as a way of processing and integrate them.

I have extensive experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds in various settings. This includes Scotland, Glasgow, where I worked for a generic counselling service delivering long term sessions and Mind in London offering short term therapy to NHS patients. I have been providing effective therapy sessions assisting clients experiencing among others depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, bereavement, motivation and self-esteem. In Lisbon, within the Hospital setting, I delivered short term therapy for patients diagnosed with chronic disease. Additionally, I support clients in coping with life changes, acknowledging the healing power of resilience and strength in the face of adversity.

How do I work

My counselling approach is person-centred, emphasising deep listening and empathy as core conditions for healing. In addition I also incorporate cognitive and psychodynamic psychological models to effectively meet the individual needs of my clients. As a long-term mindfulness practitioner, I invite a gentle somatic and compassionate awareness to therapy sessions to connect and integrate the body and mind.

Whether you have a specific goal or willing to explore an area of your life, I am here to help you, I do offer a safe space for reflection, where you can cultivate skills and develop coping strategies to improve your life- I am committed to treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.

Taking the first step towards a more fulfilling and happier life requires courage, a I am committed  to support you on that journey.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
