Counseling Psychologist, Counselor, Drug & Alcohol Counselor and Social Worker

(MA)

Hello! I am a dedicated and compassionate counsellor with a Master's degree in Psychosocial Clinical Studies. With extensive experience working with marginalized communities and a deep commitment to social justice, I strive to create a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment for my clients. My journey in mental health began with my work at the Centre for Equity Studies, where I provided counselling to homeless individuals, helping them navigate the challenges of their circumstances. This experience profoundly shaped my understanding of the intricate connection between mental health and socio-economic factors.

I am particularly passionate about relational psychoanalysis, which emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship and mutual influence between therapist and client. My approach is grounded in building trust, understanding, and empathy, which I believe are crucial for effective therapy. I am inspired by the works of pioneers like Stephen Mitchell and Neil Altman and their contributions to relational psychoanalysis. I am committed to continuous learning and staying current with developments in psychology to provide the best possible support to my clients. Whether through traditional in-person sessions or online counselling, I am here to offer a non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings, address your concerns, and work towards a more fulfilling life.

Each of us bears a unique stamp of existence, one that makes us stand out against the backdrop of the turning world. Along with this unique stamp of existence, comes a unique form and expression of suffering. Suffering, pain, wounds, grief, and loss are all natural and inevitable aspects of life. Rare is it, however, that we are given the opportunity to express and channel these wounds and losses in a healthy and positive way. If you seek a counsellor who understands the complexities of life and is dedicated to supporting you through your journey, I am here to help.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
