Life Coach, Marriage & Family Therapist and Registered Psychotherapist
I am an integrative psychotherapist/psychodramatist, which means I work using theories from several fields of psychotherapy including psychodynamic, person-centred, gestalt and transactional analysis theories. I am a couples therapist and have completed a training in “The Developmental Model of Couples Therapy.”
My model of working is varied and flexible, based on the values of creativity and appropriate spontaneity, underpinned by psychodynamic, systemic and existentialist thinking.
I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), a member of British Psychodrama Association (BPA), a registered member with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I trained in Psychodrama Psychotherapy at the London Centre for Psychodrama.
I strongly believe that the answer to life’s dilemmas is not ‘out there’ but within us. When we start to love and accept ourselves as we are, we can begin to feel more empathy for others, our relationships will improve, and we will find it easier to have the sort of life we want. I offer you the space for your story to be told, heard and understood in a confidential, non-judgmental safe space which facilitates exploration and promote insight and personal growth, where you can consider your options and make choices.
My aim is to support you make tangible changes in your way of being, in relation to yourself, others and your wider world. I will equip you with some skills to help you deal with negative thoughts and feelings, so that you can make changes and move forward in your life.
My earnest belief is that we each have the innate resources to meet our own needs however may need some guidance from a trained companion to realise our latent potential and make sense of our world. I am passionate about personal empowerment, self-responsibility/awareness and believe that these can be the keys to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. We will pay particular attention to your thoughts and feelings taking into account your past experiences, current circumstances, and desires for the future. The aim is to tailor therapy around your individual needs to enable you to work through whatever is causing you suffering and distress and to prepare you to make the changes you want in your life.
