Counseling Psychologist, Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Registered Psychotherapist

(MA)

As a MBACP registered counselling psychologist and psychotherapist and a certified fitness, health and wellbeing specialist, working with peoples' wellbeing has been the cornerstone of my 35-year career.

Marrying the mental and physical streams together while dealing with my clients using evidence-based practices, neuroscience-based research, best fitness and wellbeing solutions, with ancient wisdom customising them at the convergence that the client requires.

Using an eclectic / integrative/ pluralistic psychotherapeutic approach, I also bring in yoga, pranayama, meditation, mindfulness, mind-body / somatic techniques and energy systems like reiki and tai chi / qi gong when required. Being a licensed and registered Bach Flower practitioner (BFRP) also adds to my repertoire of healing modalities.

Whether my world-wide clients are looking for assistance in areas dealing with relationships difficulties, stress, anxiety, feelings of being low, intergenerational or multi-cultural issues, lost without meaning or purpose or just wanting to gain insight in to life, my sessions are filled with warmth, a non-judgment, safe space for enquiry and exploration where clients get to unravel their processes of finding what they come in for.

My relaxation sessions are much appreciated and well loved, sometimes being all they need without any talk therapy for the time.

Being a certified intercultural trainer, the sensitivity with which I work has been fedback to me on a number of occasions. I grow from the negative feedback as well while I am honoured to be a part of the process.

The canvas I work with as a psychologist, psychotherapist, teacher, corporate trainer and researcher expands across all populations, individual and group work in various settings.

My most recent research work includes collaborating with international researchers for a cross cultural study on peak experiences in Indians during mid life and tears of joy in Indians. Both are published in the Indian Journal of Positive Psychology.

My interests have been in creative pursuits: tai chi, dance, singing, theatre and writing. An author of over 100 articles published in newspapers, magazines and websites, I am currently writing two books, one prose fiction and another, a compilation of her poems in English, while I make time to train as a jazz/soul/blues singer!

Besides being proficient in English and Hindi, I can converse in Sindhi and Marathi and am familiar with Punjabi, Gujarati, French and Indonesian. I have travelled to and lived in various parts of the world: USA, UK, Europe, Hong Kong and South East Asia, Australia and West Africa observing and imbibing their cultures.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
