(Build Your Independent Practice—In-Office or Telehealth—with Mentalzon)

Are you a Licensed Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) ready to build or expand your own private practice on your terms? Mentalzon is seeking entrepreneurial, doctoral-level professionals who desire the autonomy and flexibility of being their own boss.

This is not a traditional "job"—it's a partnership opportunity. We provide the platform and client referrals to help you build a thriving independent practice, whether you see clients in your local office, remotely via telehealth, or a hybrid of both.

Mentalzon empowers you to focus on clinical excellence while we help you solve the biggest challenge: connecting with a steady stream of clients. You retain full control over your schedule, your fees, and your clinical approach.

Your Role as an Independent Practitioner:

  • Design Your Practice: Choose your model. Provide in-person psychological services from your private office, offer 100% remote telehealth, or combine both to fit your lifestyle.
  • Full Clinical Autonomy: You manage your caseload, select your therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, psychodynamic, etc.), and direct all aspects of clinical care.
  • Direct Client Management: You control your own schedule, client communications, billing, and all practice policies.
  • Ethical & Compliant Practice: Uphold the highest standards of the APA Code of Ethics, HIPAA, and all state/federal laws governing your practice (both in-person and remote).
  • Provide Clinical Services: Conduct psychological assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy for your clients.

Requirements for Partnership:

  • Education: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Licensure: Must possess a current, active, and unrestricted license to practice psychology independently in at least one US state.
  • Experience: Proven post-licensure clinical experience. Prior private practice experience is a plus, but not required if you have a strong entrepreneurial drive.
  • Professional Infrastructure:
    • For in-person: Must maintain a professional, confidential office space.
    • For telehealth: Must provide your own HIPAA-compliant video platform (e.g., Zoom for Healthcare, Google Workspace, Doxy.me) and have a private, secure setting for sessions.
  • Professional Liability Insurance: Must maintain an active malpractice insurance policy.
  • Skills: A strong entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivation, excellent organizational skills, and robust clinical judgment.

The Mentalzon Advantage (What We Provide):

  • Status: Independent Contractor (1099).
  • Financial Freedom: Set your own competitive session rates. You manage your billing and keep 100% of your client fees. Mentalzon takes no commissions.
  • Targeted Client Referrals: We invest in marketing to attract clients actively searching for your specific skills, both in your local area and online.
  • Total Flexibility: You choose how much or how little you work. There are no minimum hours or caseload requirements.
  • No Cost to Join: Registration and building your professional profile on Mentalzon are completely free.
  • Build Your Brand: Use your detailed profile and client reviews (optional) to build your professional reputation and attract your ideal clients.
  • Platform Support: Our team provides assistance to help you optimize your profile and maximize your visibility.

How to Get Started:

  1. Register Your Profile: Visit Mentalzon and create your detailed professional profile. Highlight your doctoral education, license, specialties, practice philosophy, and whether you offer in-person or telehealth services.
  2. Verify Credentials: Upload your doctoral degree and active license for a simple verification process.
  3. Define Your Practice: Set your availability, list your services, and establish your private session fees.
  4. Start Connecting: Once approved, your profile goes live. You will begin receiving direct client inquiries and booking requests to manage as your own.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
