Key Responsibilities:

  • Psychological Services: Provide expert psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based psychotherapy (e.g., individual, couples, family therapy) to clients via secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing or in your private office, aligned with your license and clinical expertise.
  • Clinical Assessment & Documentation: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in accordance with HIPAA, state regulations, and APA professional standards.
  • Ethical & Legal Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of ethical practice as outlined in the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct, along with all applicable state licensing board regulations and federal laws.
  • Client Engagement: Effectively manage all aspects of the client relationship, including scheduling, responding to inquiries, and clearly outlining your therapeutic approach, fees, and practice policies.
  • Direct Fee Management: Determine your own session rates and manage all billing and payment processes directly with your clients.

Requirements:

  • Education: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Licensure: Must possess a current, active, and unrestricted license to practice psychology independently in at least one US state.
  • Experience: Proven post-licensure experience providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy to diverse populations. Experience with psychological testing is a plus, but not required.
  • Telehealth Proficiency: (For remote providers) Competency in using HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms for secure video sessions. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) software is highly preferred.
  • Ethical & Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA, state-specific laws governing the practice of psychology and telehealth, and the APA Code of Ethics.
  • Professional Liability Insurance: Must maintain active professional liability (malpractice) insurance coverage.

Skills:

  • Strong diagnostic, clinical assessment (including psychometric testing if offered), and therapeutic intervention skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and a strong therapeutic alliance-building capacity.
  • Effective organizational skills, reliability, and professionalism.
