Key Responsibilities

As a Psychologist partnering with Mentalzon, you will:

  • Remote & In-Person Psychotherapy/Counselling: Deliver expert individual, couples, or family therapy services via secure, confidential video conferencing, and/or offer in-person sessions within London, always commensurate with your specific specialism, training, and HCPC registration.
  • Clinical Assessment & Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough psychological assessments, formulate diagnoses when appropriate and within your scope of practice, and develop collaborative, evidence-informed treatment plans tailored to client needs and goals.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in strict compliance with UK data protection legislation (e.g., GDPR), HCPC standards, and other relevant ethical guidelines.
  • Ethical & Legal Practice: Adhere rigorously to the HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics, British Psychological Society (BPS) ethical guidelines, and all applicable UK laws governing mental health practice and telehealth.
  • Client Communication: Manage client communications effectively and professionally, including scheduling, responding to inquiries, and transparently explaining your therapeutic approach, confidentiality, fees, and practice policies.
  • Direct Fee Management: Establish your professional fees for psychological services and manage the billing and payment process directly with your clients.

Requirements

  • Education: Possess a Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Health Psychology, Educational Psychology) from a UK-accredited institution, meeting the educational requirements for HCPC registration.
  • Licensure: Crucially, you must hold current, active, and unrestricted registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist in the UK.
  • Independent Practice Status: Your HCPC registration must permit you to practice independently without supervision.
  • Telehealth & Data Compliance: Demonstrate a clear understanding of and adherence to all HCPC standards for remote practice and UK data protection laws (GDPR) concerning client data and confidentiality.
  • Experience: Proven post-qualification experience delivering psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions.
  • Telehealth Competency: Proficiency in utilising secure, confidential video conferencing platforms and electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems. A strong understanding of telehealth best practices and ethics is essential.
  • Legal & Ethical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of HCPC Standards of Proficiency and Conduct, BPS ethical guidelines, and relevant UK legislation, including GDPR.
  • Professional Liability Insurance: Must maintain active professional liability (malpractice) insurance covering your scope of practice, including both remote and potential in-person services.
