We connect practitioners like you with a diverse range of clients seeking quality mental health support. Whether you are in the heart of Sydney, the scenic Central Coast, or regional New South Wales, our platform empowers you to build a thriving practice on your own terms. Embrace the future of mental healthcare with the flexibility of telehealth, control over your schedule and fees, and a focus on what you do best—providing exceptional client care.

Mentalzon provides the client connections and the technology; you provide the clinical expertise.

The Opportunity: Your Role as a Partner Psychologist

  • Telehealth Psychology Services: Deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychological services to individuals, couples, or families via our secure, confidential telehealth platform. Your practice reflects your specific areas of endorsement, training, and professional interest.
  • Evidence-Based Assessment & Intervention: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, develop collaborative therapeutic formulations, and implement evidence-based treatment plans (e.g., CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy) tailored to your clients' unique goals and circumstances.
  • Professional Record-Keeping: Maintain precise, timely, and confidential client records in full compliance with the standards set by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the APS Code of Ethics.
  • Adherence to Australian Professional Standards: Practice strictly in accordance with the ethical guidelines of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the regulations of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and all relevant state and federal laws governing telehealth and mental health practice in Australia.
  • Full Practice & Client Management: As an independent practitioner, you will manage all aspects of the client relationship, including scheduling, professional communication, and outlining your practice policies, therapeutic approach, and fee structure.
  • Financial Autonomy: You establish your own professional fees for your services and manage billing and payments directly with your clients.

What You'll Need (Essential Requirements):

  • Education: A Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APAC-accredited program or equivalent, meeting the requirements for registration as a psychologist in Australia.
  • Registration: Crucially, you must hold current, general (or specialist) registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) under AHPRA. Your registration must be unrestricted and permit independent practice.
  • Practice Endorsements (Highly Regarded): While general registration is the minimum, psychologists with an area of practice endorsement (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology) are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Telehealth Competency: A solid understanding of and adherence to the PsyBA and APS guidelines for providing psychological services via telehealth. Proficiency in using secure video conferencing and digital client management systems.
  • Post-Registration Experience: Demonstrated experience in providing psychological therapy and assessment post-registration.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance: You must maintain your own current professional indemnity insurance that covers your scope of practice, including telehealth services.
  • Legal & Ethical Knowledge: A comprehensive working knowledge of the APS Code of Ethics, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law as it applies in NSW.

The Mentalzon Advantage: Conditions of Partnership

  • Status: Independent Contractor. You are the owner of your practice.
  • Unmatched Flexibility: Complete freedom to set your own hours. Work full-time, part-time, or supplement your existing income. Your schedule is entirely up to you.
  • Clinical Autonomy: You maintain full control over your caseload, choice of therapeutic modalities, and all clinical decisions, in line with evidence-based practice.
  • Practice from Anywhere: Provide therapy from any private, professional setting within New South Wales or any other Australian state/territory where you are legally permitted to practice.
  • Financial Control: You Set Your Rates: Determine your own competitive fees for your professional services.
  • Direct Payments, Zero Commission: Clients pay you directly. Mentalzon takes no commission or percentage of your session fees.
  • Expanded Client Reach: Connect with potential clients actively seeking psychological support through the Mentalzon platform's growing visibility.
  • Focus on Clinical Work: We help with client acquisition, allowing you to dedicate more time and energy to therapeutic work and less to marketing administration.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
