The Opportunity: Define Your Houston-Based Practice

As an independent psychologist partnering with Mentalzon, you will have the autonomy to:

Clinical Service Delivery: Provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological services to individuals, couples, and families. You decide your service model: conduct sessions in-person within the Houston area or utilize our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform to serve clients throughout Texas.
Psychological Assessment & Strategy: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, formulate diagnoses within your scope of practice, and collaboratively develop effective, individualized therapeutic strategies and treatment plans.
Professional Record-Keeping: Maintain meticulous, timely, and confidential client records in full compliance with the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA), the regulations of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP), and all state and federal laws, including HIPAA.
Independent Practice Management: Operate as a true independent practitioner. This includes setting your own session fees, managing your schedule, and handling billing directly with your clients. You have complete control over the business side of your practice.

Qualifications for Success

Education: A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from an APA-accredited or equivalent institution.
Licensure: A current, active, and unrestricted license as a Psychologist issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP). You must be credentialed for independent practice without supervision.
Location: You must be based in or able to provide services to clients within the greater Houston metropolitan area.
Experience: Demonstrated post-licensure experience in providing psychotherapy and psychological assessment services.
Telehealth Proficiency: Competence in using telehealth technology and electronic health records (EHR) systems, with a strong understanding of telehealth ethics and best practices.
Professional Liability: Must maintain your own active professional liability (malpractice) insurance that covers your full scope of practice, including telehealth.
Core Competencies: Exceptional clinical skills, strong ethical judgment, cultural humility to serve Houston's diverse population, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.
