Counselor

Hi, I am a qualified online therapist, and am based in Singapore. I understand that life is hard and am here to help.

I strongly believe that therapy should be a nurturing experience for my clients so that they are able to explore their true feelings in their own unique context and life situation. Therefore, I like to adopt a people-centred approach, as every individual is different and the challenges they face are their very own. I have worked with young and old adults both in corporate environments (work related issues) as well as their personal lives, to help them get 'unstuck', to help them move forward and then go on to live the kind of life they would like to lead.

I am passionate about building trust with empathy and compassion to enable clients to heal, find balance and live their lives that are closely aligned to their own values. Over the years, I have worked in many voluntary programs in several countries. This has given me insights into varied human experiences in different cultural contexts and inspired me to continue working and serving in a helping profession.

While working with clients to treat various issues (such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, work-related situations to name a few), I like to integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) within a framework of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have done my Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. (There is more info available on my qualifications on my website www.onbalancecounselling.com if you wish to explore more).

I try to make each session count and be a meaningful experience for you. Do get in touch and see how I can help you! I prefer that you email me to connect (vis-a-vis a call as I just might be in a session). I will get back to you as soon as I can.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
