Annette is an experienced professional counsellor focused on empowering clients to find clarity in the present moment. She actively listens and engages in a space where clients are encouraged to explore and utilise their own wisdom and strength, promoting well-being and self-reliance skills. Annette is registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), the largest peak body for Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Australia.
In times of challenge and stress, we can feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, and ‘stuck” often resulting in procrastination, inactivity, depression and a lack of insight. A lack of direction can cause emotional dysregulation leading to destructive or self-sabotaging mechanisms to help alleviate anxiety and confusion. Annette implements strategies that incorporate client directed, solutions focused, and humanistic counselling as well as several CBT methods and practices in a warm, encouraging environment.
Annette has been described as non-judgemental, easygoing, and compassionate; dedicated to “walking the journey” with clients of all ages and backgrounds, including neurodivergent and highly sensitive people (HSPs).
Annette is committed to helping individuals and families and is an experienced youth mentor. Operating from the framework of unconditional positive regard, Annette’s side interests involve positive psychology, mindfulness, motivational practices, and life coaching as an adjunct to human services and counselling modalities.
