Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist and Therapist

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist and Therapist
I am a Registered Counselling Therapist – Candidate (RCT-C) in Nova Scotia, with over 20 years of experience working within the mental health and human services fields. I work with children, adolescents, and adults and have experience supporting individuals with anxiety, trauma, PTSD, relationship concerns, emotional regulation, self-esteem, life transitions, and personal growth.
My therapeutic approach is compassionate, practical, and client-centred. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), trauma-focused therapy, and play-based approaches when working with younger clients.
I have a particular interest in trauma and PTSD and in helping clients understand how their experiences influence their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviour. I believe therapy should provide clients with both a safe place to be heard and practical skills they can use outside of sessions.
My background also includes experience as a High Performance Coach, which has strengthened my work in areas such as confidence, resilience, motivation, goal setting, performance anxiety, and navigating significant life changes. I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves while working toward meaningful and lasting change.
