Counseling Psychologist, Marriage & Family Therapist and Psychologist
At the age of 16, I got facinated with psychology. Under the supervision of our school psychologist, I conducted research on deviant behavior among teenagers, earning second place in the Psychology section of the Minor Academy of Science in Kiev, Ukraine.
In the period of youthful maximalism, I had a desire to alleviate the mental and emotional misery and pain of others. However, I soon realized that my journey towards helping others needed to begin with self-healing. Thus, my path to self-discovery commenced.
I prefer to see myself as someone who would choose to turn to the light in Plato’s cave, even if initially it may cause pain.
I embraced the ideas of Dr. Roberto Assagioli and his Psychosynthesis approach, which centers around the synthesis of all one's subpersonalities into a cohesive and authentic core, where the "I" (Self) assumes the role of both director and observer, fostering a harmonious and balanced coexistence among these facets. I've always sensed that there's something fundamental within myself and others – something greater than Child-Adult-Parent or any other blend of subpersonalities. This essence is Life itself.
Today, my therapeutic work draws from methods of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and Transpersonal Psychology incorporating Mindfulness, which is known to be effective in terms of CBT. Additionally, I accept and implement Roger's theory of personality. Being certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy I am always happy to use its techniques following the provided protocol of ACT or independently in an integrated therapy process.
