Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist, Drug & Alcohol Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist and Psychologist
A Safe Space to Understand, Heal and Grow
Counselling, in my opinion, is not about telling someone what they ought to do. It involves establishing a secure, non-judgmental environment where people may explore their difficulties, comprehend their ideas, feelings, and actions, and create healthy coping mechanisms.
I have expertise in individual, family, and group counselling as a psychologist, with a focus on de-addiction and rehabilitation. I've been able to deal closely with people and families that are struggling with emotional, behavioural, and interpersonal issues because to my experience.
I use a client-centered, cooperative approach to counselling. Since each person has a different tale to tell, I think counselling should be tailored to each person's needs, abilities, and pace.
In addition to counselling, I've used creative/art-based therapeutic activities, lifestyle motivation, and behaviour modification to promote positive behavioural change and emotional expression. My goal is to assist clients in transitioning from merely coping with their challenges to growing in self-awareness, emotional control, self-assurance, and better lifestyle habits.
Experience That Goes Beyond the Counselling Room:
Working in a de-addiction and rehabilitation setting gave me the chance to assist people with substance-related issues and their families, which is part of my professional experience.
My responsibilities and experience included:
Individual counselling
Group counselling
Family counselling
Behaviour modification
Lifestyle and motivation-based interventions
Emotional support and psychological guidance
Relapse-prevention-oriented discussions
Helping clients identify unhealthy behavioural patterns
Supporting families in understanding addiction and recovery
Encouraging healthier coping mechanisms
Conducting therapeutic and creative activities
Using art-based activities to facilitate emotional expression
Counselling That is Personalised to You:
I don't think a single strategy should be used to every client.
Depending on their goals, readiness for change, environment, personality, and worries, different people need different kinds of assistance.
Evidence-based psychological concepts are the foundation of my counselling method, specifically:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps clients understand the connection between:
Thoughts → Emotions → Behaviours
Together, we detect harmful thot habits and behavioural cycles and strive to create more practical and healthful substitutes.
Person-Centred Approach
I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation of counselling.
I aim to provide:
Empathy + Acceptance + Non-judgment + Active Listening
Clients should feel heard rather than judged and supported rather than instructed.
Solution-Focused Strategies
Rather than focusing only on problems, counselling can also explore:
What is already working?
What strengths does the client have?
What changes are possible right now?
What would meaningful progress look like?
Behavioural Interventions
For behavioural concerns, we identify patterns and triggers and gradually work towards developing healthier responses and routines.
Mindfulness & Emotional Regulation
Where appropriate, mindfulness-based strategies can help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions and physical responses without immediately reacting to them.
Creative & Art-Based Activities
Creative activities can provide an alternative way of expressing emotions, particularly when clients find it difficult to put their experiences into words.
A Cooperative Method:
The process of counselling involves more than just guidance from the therapist.
Rather, we collaborate to comprehend your situation and find workable solutions.
Your First Session:
The goal of your first session is to understand, not to pass judgement.
The main purpose of the first session is to help us understand your motivation for seeking counselling and your goals.
You may be invited to talk about:
What you are currently experiencing
When the concern began
Situations that make it better or worse
Your thoughts and emotions
Your relationships and support system
Previous experiences with counselling
Your current coping strategies
What you would like to change
You don't have to share everything immediately.
You can take your time.
The first session is also an opportunity for you to understand how counselling works and decide whether you feel comfortable continuing the process.
My Method of Therapy:
Understand → Explore → Plan → Practise → Review
I take a methodical but adaptable approach.
We find achievable areas that can progressively result in significant change rather than attempting to change everything at once.
I believe in:
Listening without judgment
Building trust
Understanding the whole person
Setting realistic goals
Working collaboratively
Respecting individual pace
Developing practical coping skills
Recognising strengths
Encouraging sustainable change
Confidentiality & Professional Boundaries:
Your Privacy Is Important
Maintaining confidentiality is essential to establishing a secure therapy setting.
In accordance with relevant professional, ethical, and legal requirements, information disclosed during counselling is treated discreetly and with respect. However, there are ethical and professional limits to counselling. Appropriate action may need to be taken when there are serious safety concerns or when disclosure is mandated by law or ethics.
These boundaries serve to uphold competent professional practice and safeguard the client's well-being.
Book a Session:
It's not necessary to have all the answers before starting.
Beginning counselling can be a tiny but significant step toward self-awareness and transformation.
You can get in touch to set up a session if you're prepared to start.
Together, let's take this initial step.
