Jackie has been working with adolescents for more than ten years now. He started his journey in counselling after completing his bachelor's degree. He enjoys working with adolescents as he would like to journey with adolescents in their growing up journey.

He looks into the interest of running group process with adolescents. Jackie finds that adolescence is a stage which is most sensitive physically and emotionally and often being targeted but less likely to be supported. His warm personality yet drawing clear boundaries makes his work with adolescents stays objective. Jackie sees that adolescents are facing too much pressure especially growing up in the era of globalization, industrial revolution 4.0 and moving into society 5.0. They are either being given too much expectations or too little attention in their daily routines.

Hence, he developed a comprehensive health module that focuses on sex education that is suitable for both adolescents and parents. Jackie has prior experience dealing with multiple sexual issues as well as addiction issues with university youths and working young adults. He is also seeing individual clients and in progress of developing support group for adolescents. His work includes but no limited to seeing clients from lower socio-economical background, couples, working adults, extreme cultural background and administer career assessments.

He uses Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is currently seeking interest in Sex Therapy as well as Emotional Focused Therapy. He was professionally trained by skilled supervisors during his practicum and internship at multiple NGOs, clinics, schools and university.

Jackie practices a strong and professional ethics in his work. He does not compromise any malpractices in the boundaries of his professional work to secure his clients’ wellbeing as a priority. Jackie believes that practitioners can be both objective and subjective as well as being true genuine self without having to change based on expectations in order to please anyone yet staying in professional position especially working in different settings dealing with different clients.

In addition, he is equipped with knowledge of counselling within the justice system, insurance in mental health and a certified clinical supervisor by Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia. Leaving the secondary education field, he ventured into higher education field in lecturing Psychology subjects and pursuing his Doctorate of Education at the same time. The Psychology related subjects that he is confident of lecturing are Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Counselling Theories, Counselling Techniques, Marital, Couples and Family Therapy, Ethics in Psychology, Philosophy of Life & Death, Group Process, Career Counselling Theories & Development, Human Development, Social Diversity and Multicultural Counselling, Learning Disabilities, Youth Work & Services, Contemporary Issues in Psychology, Personality Disorders, Counselling Skills and Sex Education.

His biggest strength is in multicultural counselling as he grew up in a multi-racial and multi-religious family. He is well versed in the major religion and stays objective in his counselling with his clients that require religion in their sessions. The social diversity and multicultural counselling is one of the hardest yet honest to achieve thus far. Besides, Jackie's health issues had allowed him to journey into psychopharmacological, psychopathological and life transitions journey that he had been seeing clients with health issues that needed a therapist who is well versed with medicine. He strongly believes that his experience in his pain could benefit his journey with his clients.

“Please allow me to adventure the journey with you side by side and the fruitful miracle at the end point shall-thou be your greatest satisfaction.”

"It always starts with me. I need to plant the seed in the society. If not me, then who?"

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
