I am a young female social worker passionate about working with children and adolescents. I have experience working with young children between the ages of 3-19 . I have experience in providing play and art bereavement and crisis counselling to young children at Childline Western Cape . I have experience working with high school students within different social and economic spaces. I have provided trauma counselling to sexual abuse survivors, anger and behaviour management counselling to young adolescents exposed to gangsterism .

 

I have also had the privilege of facilitating psychoeducative and CBT open groups within schools equipping students with knowledge about mental health , coping skills , communication, peer relations , stress management, dealing with addiction.

 

In addition to the above , I have been able to design a child and adolescent mental health educational pamphlet. It is a resource that normalises mental health struggles , addresses common misconceptions about mental health , provides coping skills and resources (telephonic/ physical) that young people can access .
