Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist

(MSc)

Hello. I'm Christos Lefkides, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Cyprus license number 582) with an integrated, client-centered and process-oriented approach to therapy.

My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for adults, couples, families, and organizations to address a wide range of mental health and well-being challenges.

Education & Certifications

My academic foundation includes a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Clinical Psychology (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Nicosia, following a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons) in Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University.

I have pursued extensive specialized training, including:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) certification training accredited by the European Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) and the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP).

Emotion Focused Therapist - Level 3 training, with an emphasis on EFT for Adults.

Training in Gestalt-Somatic Psychotherapy Techniques.

Areas of Focus and Experience

My practice is tailored to address diverse mental health challenges, with specialized experience in:

Chronic Conditions and Pain: I have extensive experience working as a Pain Psychologist and a Clinical Psychologist in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation settings, providing interventions for the emotional and psychological impact of chronic pain and medical diagnoses.

Core Mental Health Concerns: I routinely work with individuals facing anxiety disorders, mood disorders (depression), trauma- and stressor-related disorders, interpersonal difficulties, and difficulties adjusting to major life transitions.

Therapy Modalities: I offer individual therapy, couples counseling, family therapy, and group psychotherapy.

Organizational Well-being: I have experience as an Employment Assistance Psychologist, providing counseling and delivering seminars on stress management, resilience, and mental health awareness to company employees.

Therapeutic Approach

I follow an integrative therapeutic approach, combining evidence-based models like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to tailor interventions to your unique needs.

I believe therapy should be a safe space where you can explore and re-negotiate your perspective on the matters that affect you, ultimately allowing you to make more mindful and authentic choices for your life. I am also an advocate for technology-enhanced therapy, incorporating secure online and hybrid formats to make care accessible.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
