Counseling Psychologist, Counselor and Psychotherapist

(LPC and MA)

About Me:

Hello, I'm Anya, a dedicated psychologist with a passion for helping individuals achieve better mental health and wellbeing. I hold both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Greenwich, London, along with a diploma from the Association of Psychological Therapies. My background in educational and clinical psychology is extensive, and I continually seek to expand my knowledge through professional development courses and certifications in areas such as grief and bereavement, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and suicide ideation.

Having been born in the United Kingdom, raised in the UAE, and as a Muslim revert, I bring a unique perspective that integrates both Eastern and Western viewpoints. This allows me to connect deeply with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds. In my therapeutic practice, I emphasize empathy, compassion, and active listening, providing a safe and supportive environment for clients to express their thoughts and emotions.

My Approach:

The journey you never embark upon is the only one truly impossible. This quote resonates with me deeply, especially in my therapy sessions. I believe that stepping into vulnerability is the pivotal first stride on this journey. When clients open up to me for the first time, amidst the weight of their challenges, I remind them that simply showing up is an achievement in itself and encourage celebrating the small wins each week. My aim isn't to 'fix' them but to empower them with the tools they need to navigate life's twists and turns. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and believe in letting clients lead the way, offering support as they navigate their unique paths to self-improvement, unless they prefer me to take the lead. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, aiming to foster insight, resilience, and effective coping strategies. I am committed to the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality, delivering evidence-based interventions that empower clients to navigate challenges and achieve personal growth, ultimately leading fulfilling lives.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
