As a post-lauream trainee at a facility dedicated to people with brain acquired injury, I focused extensively on neuropsychology and clinical psychology. My role involved conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments implementing rehabilitation programs and psychological support for patients who had experienced acquired brain injuries. Through this experience, I honed my skills in providing tailored care and support to individuals navigating complex cognitive and emotional challenges.
Prior to this, I served as a post-lauream trainee in a retirement home for 6 months. During this period, my primary areas of focus were neuropsychology and clinical psychology. In this role, I collaborated closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to offer emotional support to elderly residents, fostering meaningful companionship and trust within the community. I facilitated group activities and workshops aimed at enhancing cognitive abilities among the elderly population, recognizing the importance of individualized care plans tailored to address each resident's unique needs.
Throughout both experiences, I gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by elderly individuals and their families, deepening my commitment to this sector. Engaging in conversations, games, and activities that promoted social interaction and cognitive stimulation, I developed a profound appreciation for the rich life stories and wisdom shared by the elderly community. These experiences have equipped me with a compassionate and holistic approach to psychology, rooted in empathy, respect, and a dedication to enhancing the well-being of others.
With a Master's degree in Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology from the University of Trieste my academic journey has been enriched by a diverse range of experiences and specialized training.
During my time at the University of Trieste, I completed a comprehensive training course and successfully passed the exam in Animal Welfare, issued by the university's Animal Welfare Agency. This additional qualification reflects my commitment to holistic well-being, extending beyond human psychology to encompass the welfare of animals.
Furthermore, I actively participated in seminars and dissemination activities aimed at advancing knowledge in neuropsychology and psychoanalytic models. I hold certificates of participation from Sigmund Freud University, Milan Office, for seminars such as "Functional neurophysiological disorders (conversion disorders and somatoforms) in the neuropsychoanalytic model of Solms, Edwards, and Friston."
Additionally, my involvement in the Trieste Next - Festival of Scientific Research "TAKE CARE. Science for sustainable well-being" underscores my dedication to promoting scientific understanding and fostering sustainable well-being.
Building on my Bachelor's degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques, also from the University of Trieste, I engaged in active participation in activities conducted by the CFR (training and research center) of Trieste. These activities encompassed diverse topics, including reading and analyzing Freud's seminal works, participating in psychowebinars with esteemed figures such as Mark Solms, Nancy McWilliams, Paolo Migone, Mark Smaller, and Richard Astor, and contributing to the Neuropsychoanalysis Group.
Through this multifaceted academic journey, I have cultivated a deep understanding of neuropsychology, clinical psychology, and psychoanalytic theory, augmented by practical experiences and specialized training. My commitment to advancing knowledge, promoting well-being, and integrating interdisciplinary perspectives underscores my dedication to the field of psychology.
