Panic Attack
Hello Everyone,
Based on my personal experience and a case I have closely handled, I have learned that panic attacks can reduce over time by engaging in the following practices:
1. Processing Thoughts
Sharing the thoughts that come to mind, either by confiding in someone or through journaling, is a significant step. It requires courage due to the vulnerability we feel, fearing judgment, lack of support, or criticism. This highlights the role of a counselor, who is there to listen without judgment.
2. Identifying and Releasing Emotions
Emotions play an important role. Whether it's trauma, betrayal, or any event that has broken you internally, there may be feelings of grudge, anger, or grief. It's helpful to first identify the emotion and then find ways to release it, which will minimize its impact.
Example: The loss of a close family member can lead to extreme grief and sadness, which can be overcome by crying. A grudge can be overcome by trying to forgive the other person, aiding in your healing process.
3. Knowing Your Inner Self
As we process our thoughts, we gain clarity about the decisions we make in certain circumstances. We begin to understand why we make these decisions: Is it due to fear of others? Our own free will? The environment and culture we grew up in? Or perhaps due to past experiences?
