The honest truth about self-care? Sometimes it's just doing the dishes.

We’ve all seen the aesthetic version of self-care online: the candles, the perfect morning routines, the expensive green juices.

But when you’re genuinely running on empty, a 10-step routine doesn’t feel like a relief—it feels like a chore. Somewhere along the way, we turned looking after ourselves into a performance. If your self-care routine is making you feel guilty, or if it feels like just another item on an already packed to-do list, it isn't working.

Real self-care isn't always pretty. In fact, it’s usually pretty boring.

If you're feeling burnt out, forget the trends and focus on what actually keeps you grounded:

  • Listen to your body, not the fitness influencers. If you only got four hours of sleep, true self-care isn't forcing yourself through a grueling 6:00 AM workout. It’s letting yourself sleep in, or choosing a quiet walk over a heavy gym session.
  • Protect your peace with a simple "no." Emotional self-care is setting boundaries without feeling like you owe everyone a three-paragraph explanation. It’s deciding who gets your energy today.
  • Declutter your mind. Unfollow the accounts that secretly make you feel inadequate. Turn off the non-stop news alerts for a weekend. Write down everything stressing you out on a scrap piece of paper just to get it out of your head.
  • Do the unglamorous things. Sometimes, the best self-care is practical. It’s cleaning the kitchen tonight so tomorrow morning feels easier. It's scheduling that doctor’s appointment you’ve been putting off for months. It’s making choices today that your future self will thank you for.

The takeaway: Stop trying to optimize your rest. You don’t need a lifestyle overhaul, and you don’t need to spend a dime.

Tonight, try something incredibly simple: put your phone on "Do Not Disturb" an hour early, step outside for five minutes without headphones, or cancel a plan you’ve been dreading.

True peace doesn't need a filter.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
