Building Trust

Trust is the foundation of any successful and strong relationship. It is the confidence we have in someone, trust is built, earned and gradual. It is sometimes painful if relationship that ought to be built on trust is experiencing distrust. The following are the strategies that should be used to build trust in a relationship:

  1. Build a positive relationship. People cannot trust someone they do not have a relationship with.
  2. Maintain Confidentiality. In any relationship, always ensure that whatever is disclosed with you is not shared with the third party.
  3. Be empathetic. Put others in your shoes, listen to them without judging.
  4. Be honest and open. If you want to build a life-time relationship, let your yes be yes and no be no.
  5. Be clear in your communication. Let your communication be always clear, if they dont understand you, you will be misinterpreted and they might think you are not a person of your words.
