Learning to Take My Mental Health Seriously
For a long time, I ignored my mental health because I thought I just needed to “handle things better.” Eventually, the constant stress and low mood started affecting my sleep, routine, and relationships.
One thing that helped me was having my dog around. The companionship and daily routine gave me something positive to focus on, especially on difficult days.
When I started looking into emotional support animals in New York, I came across ESA Letter New York while researching what an ESA letter actually involves.
It reminded me that taking care of mental health can mean finding different forms of support that work alongside professional care. For me, having my dog around became one small but meaningful part of that journey.
