Clinical Psychologist, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist and Psychologist
I am Maristela Ferro Nepomuceno, a psychologist registered with the Regional Council of Psychology of Minas Gerais (CRP-04/33670) and a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). I hold a PhD in Education, a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, as well as a postgraduate qualification in Special Education and Neuropsychopedagogy.
My clinical practice includes psychological care for children, adolescents, and adults, in both in-person and online settings. I have experience addressing emotional health, behavioural difficulties, mood disorders, anxiety, emotional regulation, and family relationships.
I work with evidence-based therapeutic approaches, with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), recognised as the gold standard for treating a wide range of mental health conditions. I also apply techniques from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), particularly effective in cases involving emotional instability, impulsivity, and interpersonal challenges. My interventions include cognitive restructuring, skills training, mindfulness, and boundary-setting.
In addition to clinical work, I have served as a lecturer and researcher in the fields of Psychology and Disability Studies, with academic experience in Brazil and the United Kingdom (University College London). I am fluent in English and Portuguese and remain committed to ethical, up-to-date, and effective practices that promote psychological well-being.
