Overthinking and Anxiety

Blog | Life

We’ve all been there: replay, analyzing, worrying. It feels like problem-solving, but usually, it's just spinning in circles and exhausting your mental bandwidth.

When you overthink, you aren't solving a problem; you're creating new ones by fueling anxiety. Overthinking paralyzes decision-making and steals your present-moment joy.

The first step to breaking the cycle is awareness. When you catch yourself stuck in a loop:

  1. Acknowledge it. ("I am looping.")
  2. Name the emotion. ("This is anxiety/fear.")
  3. Ask: "Is this worry solving something, or is it just draining me?"

Recognizing these signs early helps you redirect that powerful mental energy back to self-compassion and constructive action.

Are you an overthinker? Which number from the checklist hits home the hardest for you? Drop the number in the comments. Let’s talk about it.
